Rock Paper Scissors Showdown

Rock Paper Scissors Showdown turns the classic hand game into a run of twelve matches against bots. It plays in your browser on a phone or a PC with no download, and you play against the computer, not other people.

Each level is a match: the first to win three rounds takes it. Tap rock, paper or scissors, or press 1, 2 or 3 on a keyboard. After a quick 3, 2, 1 both hands are shown and clash in the middle. Rock beats scissors, scissors beat paper and paper beats rock, and a tie is simply played again. The bot picks before you do and never sees your choice.

Every bot has a habit you can learn. One has a favourite hand, one copies your last hand, one goes in order, one tries to beat whatever you played last, and later bots mix two habits together. Watch what it plays, work out the pattern and use it against it.

Most levels add a twist, and the same twist never comes twice in a row. In reverse rounds the losing hand wins. In bluff rounds the bot tells you its hand first, but sometimes it lies, and its lies follow a pattern. In pick two, keep one, you both choose two hands, see both pairs, then each keeps one. In banned rounds one hand is locked for both players. The final level mixes them all.

You earn up to three stars per level: lose fewer rounds for more stars. Beat a level to unlock the next one, and replay any level from the Levels screen.

Tips: play the first few rounds calmly and watch the bot's hands. In pick two, choose a pair that can answer both of the bot's hands.
