Diwali Simulator

Diwali Simulator is a free online firecracker game. It is Diwali night: your courtyard is lined with glowing diyas, and outside the gate a clean colony road is lit up with strings of fairy lights on every house, with neighbours walking past and fireworks going off over the rooftops. It plays right in your browser with nothing to download, best in landscape.

Pick a cracker in the tray, tap the ground to put it down, then tap it to light the fuse with an agarbatti. An Anar (flower pot) sprays a tall golden fountain, a Chakri (ground spinner) whirls round the floor, a Ladi (cracker string) pops down the road, the Phuljhadi (sparkler) draws with light, a Sky Rocket climbs and bursts high above the houses, and every sky shell is different: a new size, new colours and a new shape each time. Later you unlock the Flying Spinner, the Thunder Ball, the Sky Shot 16, the Mega Rocket, the Rainbow Fountain, the Heart Rocket, the Galaxy Cake, the Grand Finale and, at the very top, the Sky Crown.

Go out to the colony road for the long Bijli strings: a 100-wala, a 1000-wala and a 10,000-wala that rattles up and down the road. Neighbours walk past on the footpath. Wish them Happy Diwali for a few sparks, and tap Ruko! to stop anyone heading for a lit cracker. Some crackers are duds: never relight one, wait for the timer, then soak it in water.

At level 3 the rooftop terrace opens: rockets and sky shots earn half as much again up there, with the whole city lit up around you, but ground crackers stay downstairs. At level 6 you can take the giant cakes, the Galaxy Cake, the Grand Finale and the Sky Crown, to the society park, a wide lawn ringed by trees in fairy lights with families walking the paths.

Every cracker earns sparks, with a show bonus of up to x2.5 for lighting lots at once, and the shop shows what each cracker would really cost in an Indian shop. A list of missions takes you from your first flower pot to the Sky Crown. In real life, use only green crackers, follow your local rules and timings, keep water close and celebrate safely.
